ON EARLY PREGNANCY; Irene back to the village

Irene had spent two days off my site and I was tempted to ask Maggie her workmate Whether she knew Irene's whereabouts. Maggie told me that Irene was impregnated by her two years lover who later disowned the pregnant and the poor girl had to get back to Mityana village.

Really Irene is beautiful, she is a half tall with a black-brown skin. A lavishing smile is what she  never forgets and colouring her lips was like breakfast to her.

2yrs back Irene fell in love with a one doctor called Sailus who works with some hospital in Kampala whose name I will not disclose.

So Sailus is married but he kept on promising Irene heaven and earth.  Irene was staying with her big sister yet well sure that Sailus one day will rent for her a good house.

Attending each and every football match for Uganda Cranes at Nambole was compulsory to Irene since Sailus had whatever it takes.

But tragedy came after the uncountable times Sailus slept with Irene. She got pregnant.  Sailus became rude and disowned the pregnant claiming that Irene was sleeping with some guy else but not him.

The poor girl decided to get back to Mityana her home village ending all the good dreams she had in Kampala. Irene is 18yrs old.

WORDS OF ELDERS

Dr.Kenneth Boogere of Dalon Medical Centre says "many young girls conceive at an early stage and the people responsible always turn a death ear".
He continued to say that most of the men who distruct the lives of young girls are married men because they have money.

Ms.Sarah of House of Health says,"lack of girl child education has done much in taking our girls to a wrong direction. There are parents who still believe that there is no need for educating girls.

Mr.Andrew Kaweesi of Classic Foods ,attributes early pregnancy to poverty and rape. He even narrated to me a girl who conceived after being raped.

Many young girls like Irene are suffering with unexpected pregnancies and they are now living poorly. There dreams ended and a new chapter of becoming mothers set into their lives.
